I think it's a great idea.

I've done a little bit of this publication thing myself in the past and
would be happy to contribute in any way.

There is plenty of books out there for bourne, korn, and of course
bash, and doing a fish book would be a welcome addition - the others
can be referred to as examples of why fish is better. :)

On an administration side of things it is well worth your while getting
an ISBN for the publication as well. Of course, one can write 90% of
the book before thinking about this.

Having the book in progress in a repository (e.g., git) where you can
invite users to push additions, elaborations, and changes is handy too.
