Think about it.... Don't we get all sweaty and itchy in the summer, as opposed to the winter? Often just taking a brush or curry comb to your horse a few times a week, if not daily, will keep them from rubbing. I know tail brushing/combing is one of those "can-of-worms" subjects, but dead, shed hair if not combed out can also cause itching and rubbing. And of course don't forget the flies this time of year! If this was a brushing, deadhair, sweat, fly problem she would do this all the time in the summer and not only when she is in heat. My horses are brushed and worked daily so none of these things are the problem. Sue
