I guess that I had better introduce myself before I comment on the volume of mail that comes from this list. My name is Mary McNiven and I live on Prince Edward Island in Eastern Canada. I have 4 fjords, three mares and a gelding. I enjoy reading this list, but I have almost decided to unsubscribe due to the large numbers of posts that are directed to only one person, or are congratulations or thanks or whatever. Like many, I use my computer at work, and if I am away from my desk for any length of time, many fjord messages have piled up and I have a message from the computer centre that I am out of space. I don't feel that the digests are an option because it would take forever to wade through all the messages that come in a day. So, I would second the suggestion that we limit postings to messages that most people would be interested in and send those of a personal nature to the individual instead. I would also like to mention that I am the animal nutritionist at the Atlantic Veterinary College, UPEI. We have just started a multi-year project studying ways to improve the fertility of stored stallion semen (don't ask what that has to do with nutrition) so if anyone has a mare or stallion to donate to the project, just let me know!
