This message is from: Jean Ernest <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> I read about Trail Trials several years ago and sent to the California Horse trail Trials people for info and a set of the rules, etc. They sold me a packet and I took it to our Trail riders organization here, the Interior Alaska Trail Rilders Association. We hold an annual NCTRA sanctioned Competitive ride. Well, between the Trail Riders and the 4-H groups we put on Trail Trials and got a LOT of folks out who ordinarily don't do Competitive rides, and we had a ball! Much more relaxed than a Competitive Trail Ride, not nearly the preparation needed, all ages can participate, etc. Obstacles were a bit too simple, tho. I think Our ride maybe was 10 miles, but I can't remember. We had a great barbecue afterward and thought it one of the best events we'd had. Nice change from the shows and not nearly so much work as the Copetitive Trail Ride.
Jean in Fairbanks, Alaska, another sunny day, but too much ice left from melting and freezing snow to ride. > >(Hey, a NEW topic here...!) > >Had a few private emails about what in the heck trail trials were, as I >posted to the list that I was going to participate in one. And so,to satisfy >your curiosity, this is what they were about... ************************************************************ Jean Ernest Fairbanks, Alaska mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]
