Hi Katy, Congratulations on your new horse. Can't answer your question about jumping, maybe someone else can? Just make sure you take your time. About your horse's mane, some are thin and some are very thick. I doubt that your fjord's mane has been pulled. We've had both types here. One horse had a mane as "wide as a freeway!" Anyway, I cut the mane with scissors, shaping the mane by "eyeing" the line I want to make. Other people use electric clippers. Good luck and have fun with your fjord.
