I read a study where people were asked at the end of 6 months to guess which of 12 foals had been imprinted and which had not (they'd all been handled daily). Nobody could tell. Gail, I question that study as being conclusive.. maybe the key to their finding was the 6 month age factor, it seems to me that any of them go through a kind of offish spell for a while early on but once they're past that phase I believe there is a marked difference in a horse that's been handled considerably. Of course I realize too it would depend on the individual horse as some are more personable than others. I wonder too how many they studied? Do you recall the resource for that theory? Why aren't we outside riding! It's raining here but I'll bet you've got sunshine (too much sunshine maybe? =)) Ruthie
