Hello Kate

I feed very wet beet pulp year round. It is a great way to make sure that
your horse gets more liquids in either hot or cold weather when they are
more likely to drink less. Since I have done this for many years now. I
have
not had any colic's related to not drinking. And yes they love it. If the
horse is too fat use it to replace the hay that they would normally eat.
If too thin add more and they will gain easily. If they eat grain too fast
use it to mix with it. As it does slow them down. I have not had any horses
inhale it. Most take more time and try to chew it. It really is a very
good feed choice for many different horses. The amount of water it absorbs
is enormous .
