Excellent response! IMHO, sending the horse to auction (slaughter)
when it's usefulness is done, moved onto another horse, kid lost
interest, etc., etc., is simply a way for people to make one more
dollar off the horse rather than spend a little more on it to
humanely euthanize it. It also takes strength to stand there and tell
the horse how wonderful he is and then watch him die. When he walks
off into a trailer and they see it drive away to the auction not
knowing what is really going to happen to it - that is putting their
head in the sand and they should be ashamed. I admit I am very naive
in the horse world but my two faux fjords will not know fear again
and they certainly won't know fear on the day they die - with us,
their family.
