My farrier lived in Ohio for a number of years, returned to Calif. He had
connections and was a farrier with a number of high level riders (Olympic),
drivers, and a high level Amish driver who is highly respected. The Amish
person informed him to never buy an "Amish trained" horse; that basically they
train and use the horse very hard and then when they need a newer fresher horse
they sell the used up horse.
