I'd just like to add: - I use Flash for some projects. - I use the Flex SDK + Flash for other projects.
It's simply about choosing the right tool for the job. Getting back to the original poster's question, as Giro has demonstrated with his samples, yes there are good sites written in Flex, and there's nothing stopping Sid achieving the sort of site he was asking about in Flex if he wanted to.
