The Flex documentation states that the menuBar will not dispatch an
itemClick event for items on the Bar itself. It seems that only its
children will trigger this event.

Rather than use a menuBar, try a LinkBar, or LinkButton.

The MenuBar is really for nested menus.

Andrew
