Yes, it works if you use an 800/400 adaptor cable between a 1394b port on the computer and the 1394b port on the Flex radio. I do it all the time between my Macs and the Flex radios. I have been doing it since 1.16.something. I can't speak for other PCs and 1394b cards and I have heard that it doesn't always work.
