chance that either steps 2 or 5 will resolve your problem.
If not, then you can try 3, but there is a good chance y our BIOS does not have

Hey Tim,
Thanks for the prompt reply! I'll work through your suggestions and let
you know how it works out.
In the meantime I connected the F1500 to a different PC running XP SP3
and downloaded 2.0.8. The rig works fine, so it doesn't look like a
hardware issue.
I'll get back to working on the laptop and post my progress.
