Neal (Da' MAN!)

Thank you for your advise, Neal; I shall allow XP-SP3 installation to continue.
I REALLY do appreciate your highly qualified advice!!

I would REALLY like to have TWO Boot camp partitions on my iMac!! Then, I could easily switch from XP to 7; -This would be a great way to make comparisons. But, as I have been told, this is not possible...

To Darryl; Your advice and comments are also valued. I do believe I will set up my PowerSDR/Boot-Camp to run with Windows 7 at some point. For now, I am feeling the strain of PowerSDR as well as the load that LIVESTREAM present to my computer. Livestream can easily go away, as it is a seldom used app, but it is still not nice to see the "percentage metering" showing a rather high workload. Thank you for your input.

I fully support win7 but I would stick with XP in your situation. In any "hosted" environment, XP takes less resources, both disk and processor.

Thank you for your reply, Darryl! I do LIKE how Win-7 operates!

But again, which OS will offer the least "workload" for
        PowerSDR???
Your words of .NET 4.5 is interesting.

I recall having to download ".NET-Something" in order to make
        XP-SP3 run PowerSDR.
        - Is this ".NET 4.5" something that is NOT in XP-SP3?

I do not have Win-8 available, but I could consider...

Does Win-8 "run" faster than Win-7???
Would Win-8 result in a LOWER "% usage" than Win-7?
Would Win-7 result in a LOWER "% usage" than XP?
        - Again, my ONLY consideration is the "% usage" of PowerSDR!

Personally I would go with Windows 7. XP is at end of
life therefore FlexRadio should not feel under any
obligation to support XP as there is many features with
.NET 4.5 that would make PSDR better and faster.
Personally I would go with Windows 8. It boots very quickly.

I have the choice of installing Windows XP-SP3, or
            Windows 7.

My ONLY CONSIDERATION is the workload, or the speed of
            either OS.
In other words, WHICH OS WILL SHOW THE LOWEST CPU %
            with PowerSDR?
(XP installation is under way at this moment, but I
            can easily
                change to 7.)
