[Flexradio] Microsoft Visual Studio $6

somewhere down the list, I'm going to get the SDR source code and try a few 
things...

so I read here that Microsoft Visual Studio was the way to go.  I went to 
the web page
and found them offering Visual Studio 2005 beta 2 for the cost of postage, 
$5.99
can't go too far wrong at that price, so I went for it.
so, has anyone tried this?  is there anything else needed to try it out?
