Dick,
I am addressing this to the reflector because it is a very good question for all.  The lowest cost way to do this is to return the stack intact.  That will keep shipping costs down but will let us test the entire stack as a unit after modification.  The stack weighs just under 1 lb as I recall.

PS My question should have been. Do we send in the whole stack, the stack still installed in the enclosure, or just the BPF and RFE boards for the factory mod?

Subject: [Flexradio] High Dynamic Range Upgrade Now Available for SDR-1000

Dear FlexRadio customer,

FlexRadio is pleased to announce a new SDR-1000 hardware upgrade that provides 99dB of two tone, third order dynamic range and +28dBm IP3 at 2KHz spacing in the Medium preamp setting!  This upgrade began shipping on all radios starting on July 15, 2005 and was reviewed by the ARRL for the October 2005 issue of QST.  The QST article states, "Note that the near-in third order IMD dynamic range is right up there with the best radios we've ever measured, and extends at least in to 2KHz."

The upgrades involve simple component changes that can be added to all radios shipped before July 15th, which have the RFE board installed.  ECO-020 and ECO-025 have been posted on the private customer download site for your review.  We are taking parts kit orders on the "Upgrade" section on the "Pricing" link on our website.  The parts kit sells for $7.00 plus shipping and handling.  We are also offering a factory authorized upgrade service for $75.00 plus shipping and handling.  If you wish to send your radio in for factory upgrade, please enclose your credit card information with the shipment.  Allow two weeks at our location for the upgrade.

73,
Gerald
