The external cards work fine.
They don't have the same dynamic range or
available inputs/outputs as the Delta 44, but they are comparable to
other consumer grade PCI cards (like the Turtle Beach Santa Cruz and the
Audigy 2 ZS). We are currently researching several alternatives for
laptop users and will post as soon as we have a better solution.

BTW: The MP3+/Digital Music is a 16-bit card and the Extigy is 24-bit.

Yes.. this would be quite handy for portable operation (or demonstrations). Even better, if you've tested with a USB/Parallel and a USB/Audio together that works. It would be wonderful if one could gather all the interfaces together in one "box" (whether it's physical, or just wadded together with tape and zipties) and have only one wire to a "legacy free" laptop.

For instance, Dell is blowing out Inspiron 1200 laptops for $449 (small and medium business pricing). It's a 1.4 Ghz celeron M, 256MB, etc. etc., but, of course, it has no parallel and no serial interface.
