Hi Eric,

I would guess that there were other "operator error" issues in that case besides installing .NET 2.0 Beta...

Good to know Phil.  My only reason for commenting was that a customer a while back downloaded a beta version of .NET 2.0 and ended up reformatting his computer in order to get things back to the way they were before he loaded it.  J

Eric,

There is no conflict with having .NET 1.1 and .NET 2.0 on the same machine.  The Assembly contains the data about which version to use (that was part of the idea of having metadata in the assemblies).  Also, since PowerSDR is compiled against .NET 1.1 it won't automatically use .NET 2.0.  As a matter of fact VS 2003 won't compile for .NET 2.0 unless some things are changed.  You would have to use VS 2005.

I have .NET 1.1, .NET 2.0, and Mono installed without conflict.

I would strongly recommend that PowerSDR users do not upgrade to v2.0 until we have verified that either our current version or an upcoming version works is compatible with the new version (unless you are comfortable with the process of getting back to v1.1).  I don't know how hard it is to uninstall, but my experience with uninstalling these sorts of things from MS is not good.  ;)
