The question about whether the vertical hears well is answered. I heard 9J2BO on 80 meters tonight. Thats about 8500 miles. I don't know if I ever heard so far before on 80 with my prior stuff.
Inside that radius, I can work DXCC handily. Probably 15 or 20 zones, maybe more.
But, I many need that amp more than I know. The question of whether it can transmit is still up for grabs. There was a Ukranian on 40 meters that I tried to get and failed. On the G5RV, that would be a chip shot at only about 5000 miles. Even at 100 watts. So, still some things to figure out. Larry WO0Z
