My main reason for using a dedicated computer box for the SDR 1000 is for isolation while I experiment. I plan to run as many as 5 different programs at once Dragon Dictate is a resource hog (mainly the CPU and sound card). My reasons for a dedicated computer are also laziness, old age ( I am almost 58), and old fashion conservatism. I want to deal with as small a number of variables as I can when dealing with problems. I anticipate problems. This is the nature of experimentation.
