I use a virtual com port to connect PowerSDR with Writelog. This saves having to use any real com ports.
The only hitch I had was that Writelog only has four serial port options, and the default vCom setup used higher numbered ports. I fixed that by changing the port number assignments in the vCom setup utility. Another approach would be to edit the Writelog ini file. In my Writelog setup PowerSDR is my second (Right) radio. I have a 950SDX set up as Left.
