For a vertical that doesn't require radials, I've been using the Cushcraft R5 for many years. It only needs the supplied counterpoise that consists of four 48" steel rods; no radials required. It covers 20 thru 10 and has acceptable swr - I typically don't need to use a tuner with it. Unfortunately, it is no longer available new. I believe the later antennas in the series may also support 40m.
If you have room for 32' of wire, that will get you a 20m dipole, provided you have some way to hang it up. Sorry, I don't have any sky hooks:) Hope this helps you get on the air. 73, Pete, N3EVL > -----Original Message----- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > radio.biz] On Behalf Of RoodyJ > Sent: Friday, March 21, 2008 1:04 PM > To: flexradio@flex-radio.biz > Subject: [Flexradio] SDR-1000 Wire Antennas > Importance: High > > I've recently acquired an SDR-1000 with a Presonus Firebox, and I am > anxiously trying to get the most out of it.
