Yes, I am running as administrator and UAC is disabled. The primary symptom here is just very sluggish operation and then eventually faulting out after a few minutes. I think that I will try the Eterlogic virtual com port software that Neil mentioned and see what happens. I have no idea why Vista does not run well with the virtual com ports in this case, it is disappointing. The odd part is that HRD (which has no issues with Vista) supports VCom and even includes the software. It must be just some strange Vista thing. Can't blame Billy anymore.
