Thank you for the comments. Usually I use Safe Mode1 and the buffer
is set to the same size(i.e. 2048) in the driver and the PowerSDR.
I confirmed that the 1394 network is disabled.

According to your advice I tried Safemode 2 and 3 and also set the
Program priority to High and Real-time.  Those affected a bit but not
solved the problem. At 48k is OK, 96k choppy after 10 minutes or so,
and 192k almost unusable.  The CPU load on the PowerSDR indicates around
10%.

Once again I uninstalled the current driver and re-install the old one
(V3.0.0.70). The radio and the software works well even at 192k sampling
rate. Hmmm...
