All is done and powersdr is not stable.
Using XP with all services (not needed) dissabled.
All hardware not in use is dissabled, indexing dissabled, power saving in high performance.
wireless and ethernet dissabled.
Firewire included in the laptop dissabled.
Using an express card firewire card with the correct chipset.

Firewire is sharing IRQ with video card and one usb port.

I don't know hot to change irq in the laptop.

What do tou think?

This laptop was bought only for powersdr, but this is being really dificult for me.

Thank's a lot.

Ruben and Robert,

Remember that on a laptop to turn the "Power Saving" programs off, go into Power Options of Windows control panel, set for "Always On" or "High Performance" option so that things like hard drives and external devices do not time out. You might also check the BIOS and make sure that that Intel's Speed Step or AMD's Cool Run is turned off (this will slow the processor down) and while in there, make sure in any Power window, that timers again are turned off. This for ALL Windows OSs and machines, I feel that Windows Indexing should be turned off. It's built in to Vista, but in XP it was added as an add on via an update, so check the Add/Remove programs and make sure that Windows Indexing 4.0 is not installed (it's a real CPU killer) .. Wireless is also something that might be giving issues, either through a slow driver or setting for the local network, best to disable and see if this makes PowerSDR run smoother..

Of course watch the DPC

With 5000a i don't need a second sound card.
Problem is being the FireWire included in the laptop.
I have bought an express card FireWire card and installed xp.
Now the problem seems be solved at 90%
powersdr only freezes now sometimes when using with vac and mixw.
I will continue working on it
