The FLEX-x000 has a hot front end. If your radio is exposed to strong signals 
from BCB stations, the mixing products can show up on 160 and 80m.  If you have 
the preamp turned on for 160 and 80m, you should turn it off.  If that helps 
some, then you probably are going to need a BCB filter (I recommend the ones 
from ICE).

I had the same problem from a local Hispanic AM radio station showing up on 6m 
at night when I was using an external preamp ~18 dB).  I used a BCB filter to 
knock out everything below 1.8 MHz and that helped a lot, especially on the top 
bands.  For 6m, I ended up using a very narrow bandpass filter tuned for the 
bottom of 6m because of other types of interference I was getting on that band.
