I appreciate all of the good suggestions and this weekend I will try the following: 1. Neal's suggestion: Turn off Windows Search in Windows 7 and modify the Windows Update to "do not check all". It does seem as if another process is periodically working and causing a delay in the cw processing. Maybe this will do the trick. 2. Ed's sugggestion: I will try the PowerSDR 2.0.16 upgrade. 3. George, we cw operators must forge forward! I love the Flex5kA receive on cw, but just need to get the cw timing and qsk ironed out and I will be a happy camper!
To answer Neal, my virus checker is McAfee AntiVirus Plus. I can somewhat disable it, but suspect that it never truly shuts off all functions.
