Brian, Yep, that is the way I do it also.
I can see a situation where you would want the TX out line both enabled & disabled at the same time. 1. Switch amp to dummy load & click Tune to tune up amp (I have a tube amp -- not rich enough for one of those new-fangled no-tune solid-state ones) -- you would want TX line enabled to key amp. 2. Switch amp to antenna & click Tune to trigger autotuner -- you would want tuner disabled to tune using low power. So, simplest solution is to always have TX out line always enabled & switch amp between Standby & Operate.
