This has something to do with hardware differences. I have a 3000, which is quite a bit better than the 1500 that I had previously, but it still requires an external keyer. I've never used a 5000 but I'm told that it has a low enough delay to make the internal keyer work fine. However, no QSK. For that, both hardware and software may have to evolve.
