The K3 has DSP filters with variable shift/width, as do nearly all modern radios, including Flex, Yaesu, Icom, Kenwood and TenTec. The advent of DSP (maybe the FT-1000D was the first) was a huge leap forward from the 50-khz 3rd IF that provided shift/width control in the pre-digital days.
