Windows 8 does have a built in anti virus program named "Windows Defender". Note that this is a re-write of the old "Windows Defender" that existed under previous versions of Windows and it incorporates "Microsoft Security Essentials" including the daily updates. You can disable it but there is no need to do so, it doesn't cause any problems with Flex radios.
