I also recommend WSJT-X instead of WSJT. There is still difficulty setting up VAC (I finally, after some help here and some struggles, got the interrupt parameters right) but I would suggest that WSJT-X itself is easier and somehow more forgiving. It also dispenses with the manual port number thing, which is both primative and unnecessary.
When it's not working, WSJT looks somehow more inviting, but in the end, all of my troubles were really with VAC setup and once you get past that, WSJT-X is much better to work with.
