I dont think there is an issue with old computers (I will continue to test, configure, build and support these radios for as long as anyone will tolerate me!)
I think the way forward would be for Flex to "contribute" their proprietary parts of PowerSDR back to the Open Source license and let it merge with the OpenHPSDR programming branch of PSDR. Warren Pratt and crew have done some absolutely amazing things with their flavor of PSDR (they just introduced a second noise reduction feature, for instance) and have completely rewritten all of the DSP logic, it performs just wonderfully. It might be too early for them to do this as I expect it could be viewed as discontinuing support but it would really open things up a lot (and bring a lot more resources onboard for its maintenance).
