These changes are working great!  The configuration of spin animation actually
matches what I expect to see.  I noticed that the viewmgr is updating quite a
bit more frequently.  This is apparent in that the viewer offsets are
converging to the goal-offsets a lot more quickly (as in panning with the
keyboard).  Actually I like it better faster, for looking around while flying
VFR style.
