I assume you are using current XFree86/DRI with an ATI Radeon board. The XFree team did the 4.3.0 release with a known bug (known for _months_) - the so called "radeon lockup".
Yes, I am using the 4.3.0 XFree86/DRI with the ATI Radeon 7000. I have heard murmurs about this bug, but depending on whom you talk to it's been fixed...
I've looked on the DRI site -- where is this problem documented? I'd really like more information.
If this is the case, you could try to build the DRI from current CVS.
Okay. I can do that without having to rebuild XFree86, correct?
