i'm only saying lynux, windows and mac because those developers (like me) are probably less advanced than someone using say IRIX. if you're using an IRIX box then right there i know your smarter than me.
just this morning i'm having trouble building Simgear. i'm using cygwin on a windows xp machine. by the way i've tried to post the error i'm getting by the listserver thinks i'm sending email commands and bounces the message. i'll try this simple piece of error message from configure:
checking for GetLocalTime... no checking for rint... yes checking for getrusage... yes configure: creating ./config.status config.status: creating "\" infig.status: error: cannot find input file: "\"
honestly have you ever tried building this thing from scratch? again i'm not trying to be harsh but the build process is really quite complicated and i haven't succeeded yet.
You reported earlier problems with plib/ul.h, what did you do to get past that and other earlier problems. If you took a misstep there, you could have messed things up later in the process.
When the configure script fails on a test, it's important to look at the config.log to see exactly why it is failing. It could be something that plib/ul.h includes that is fouling things up, or some other missing piece. Can you compile and run the plib examples?
And yes, it's difficult to do remote diagnostics without having the full set of error messages.
