Since nobody had time to give the feedback so far,
maybe you would be tempted to help if you could look at
the current state of the rain patch & fly with it.

It's working, and fixes the current buggy rain orientation behaviour for the
views attached to the aircraft (while still inheriting bugs with
the views attached to anything else).
