I am one of those who are not enthusiastic about adding weapons to FlightGear. However, if combat capability is added, I think we would need to limit its scope. In my opinion, putting cannons on to planes is acceptable, but dropping bombs on ground is pushing it. As to missiles and other "smart" weapons, I think they should be banned out right. Also, with cannons, a player must get into certain range to another for the weapons to be useful. So, the planes of the "naughty" ones can be rigged to explode if they are on an intercept course and are too close to an unarm aircraft.
