Primarily GIT had been relying on some Unix filesystem features that had not been available on Windows - Mac OS X is not an issue because it basically is a Unix. I suspect James Turner is successfully using GIT on the Mac. I know about this GIT client implementation on Windows: http://code.google.com/p/msysgit/ .... but I don't have any opportunity to check wether it works.
