As I understand Syd he decided that adding a hack to FlightGear's CVS
Base Package is nothing more than just the lesser evil compared to
having people distribute deprecated versions of his aircraft. I don't
think he's enthusiastic about this hack.
Just an example for many points in which I disagree with your
