Hi jomo,

Firstly, thanks very much for looking at improving The Manual. 

I'm currently on vacation so haven't had the chance to look at your work in 
detail but thought I should comment in case you thought you were being ignored 
by the maintainers.

One immediate question is how you see your changes being incorporated into to 
latex source code?

Producing a nice PDF is quite important for a lot of people so I wouldn't want 
to lose that. 

More comments when I get the time once I'm back.
