As far as I know, /usr should be on the prefix path automatically, so I'm 
surprised you needed that, trailing slashes or otherwise. Hmmmm

Do the OSG demos run okay? We shouldn't be doing anything different from the 
osg examples, in terms of interaction with X11 and OpenGL.
