hi,

Flightgear is running properly on Windows 98 but i rather like to work
with linux and up to now I have not be able to get 3D accelaration with
my radeon ATI 9600 series

I have already done a lot of trials using fglrx_4_3_0-8.16.20-1.i386.rpm
following very carefully the rules in the documentation but
each time I got the same results. In fact I have no errors:
install the rpm
submit ./make.sh
then ./make_install.sh
then running fglrxconfig ...
glxinfo gave :
direct rendering: no
OpenGL vendor string: Mesa project:www.mesad3d.org
OpenGL renderer string: Mesa GLX Indirect
OpenGL version string: 1.3 Mesa 4.0.4
I have already delete XFree-Mesa-libGL-4.3.0-2.i386.rpm to put the lib of
fglrx etc..
I found on the web a guide from Ontario who met the same Pb with a Redhat 9.0
kernel - 2.4.20-6 an ati radeon 9000 etc.. according to the paper I have
found I don't think he managed to get 3D accelaration.

I would appreciate if somebody could give me some help ?
may be I have to change the videocard ? however I have to recall that
flightgear runs quite well with windows on the same machin.

thanks very much

François
