About question 1 I leave the answer to an expert.
Question 2 => F3 key and F10 key to erase the menu bar
Question 3 with "z" key you can increase the visibility and "Z" decrease
it.

About rivers and others city size i have the same difficulties
surrounding "Mont Ventoux" (not so far from Montpellier) rivers are
sometime instead of road and roads instead of rivers, rivers climb
and ride on mountains, cities are missing.
I think we cannot ask for a high detailed (spy quality) scenery.
However we have a rather good definition about elevations, the
mountains, hills, and valley are there.

Cheers
