Frankly, I don't have the slightest clue why people here suggested that you download/burn/whatever Knoppix. This won't get you anywhere with your video card problem. There's nothing on the Knoppix CD that will allow you to run FlightGear under Windows. There's no OpenGL driver for Windows on the CD! I can't say much about Windows, but as others have suggested already, you better try to find out as much as possible about the graphics card chip and available OpenGL drivers. If the vendor is of no help, then maybe Google is.
