..huh??? This is output from the Toshiba?
_Precisely_what_ is the above?
_Precisely_how_ did you get this?
(To me it looks like a wee piece of lsmod output, but that's
just my WAG.)

..play with the right button in the srcoll bar. ;o)

..or play it rough: " dmesg |less ". ;o)

> the top of dmesg and lsmod!

..time to play with bash: " glxinfo >/home/knoppix/fg "
" lspci >>/home/knoppix/fg "
" cat /proc/cpuinfo >>/home/knoppix/fg " etc till you've covered all the
symtoms I asked for output on.

..just like in the courts, we need "the truth, the whole truth and
nothing but the truth." ;o)

..once you think you're done, review it with " less /home/knoppix/fg "
or edit it with "mcedit /home/knoppix/fg " or "kate /home/knoppix/fg &"
and toss the /home/knoppix/fg text into your next post and we'll be
getting useful info for our diagnosis. ;o)

..after you're done, " apt-get update ;apt-get install abs-guide ", or
chk out deeper waters at http://tldp.org/LDP/abs/html/index.html ;o)

..more docs: First chk http://www.debian.org/doc/ for things done the
Debian way (e.g. the kernel), then in http://tldp.org/ for general stuff
like bash. Knoppix is a Debian child, and is fading because the Sarge
installer is pretty good, and "proper" Debian is where you wind up
anyway on installing and updating either of these 2. ;o)

Scenarios always come in sets of three:
best case, worst case, and just in case.
