Between 'should' and 'does' lies a massive gulf beyond the capacity of mere mortals to understand. I don't know what it is about my installation, but it don't work. All that happens, no matter what I try, is that the propeller kicks for about a third of a revolution. It might be something to do with how the executable interprets the space bar, I suppose... > > I now have problems compiling FlightGear CVS, but that's another email. > > Yeah - don't we all? The first problem was that I needed the CVS of SimGear as well, the second that I needed to configure SimGear --with-jpeg-factory. That fixed it. I know just have to wait for the base package to finish checking out. Over dialup. The masochist said 'Hit me, hit me!' and the sadist said, 'No.' I'm also _really_ looking forward to flying the Hurricane. If I can get the Merlin started. Incidentally, I'm really impressed, being a quite new user of FG, with the map coverage. Downloading the requisite terrain and flying out of my local airports was a real thrill. Of course I can't spot my house, but I can at least imagine it.
