Hi Laurence ,
Im no expert, or pilot , but most of the research I've indicated that a 
proper approach is to come in below the glideslope.... sounds like your 
way ahead of me there .....
Keep in mind to that most of the flightdirector / autopilot funtions Im 
researching , and may be incorrect or incomplete at the moment ....
But I'm 99.9% sure your right , the Aerostar shouldn't climb to 
intercept the glideslope ....
I'll see if I can correct that next ,
