I have been practicing instrument approaches with the aerostar & have a comment & question regarding the AP behavior when intercepting the localizer beam in approach mode.
I am in the habit of intercepting the localizer beam in horizontal flight from below the beam. In the aerostar the AP with fly up to the glideslope path whereas the c172p AP takes no action until the indicated glideslope is below the flight path. I am not a pilot so I am wondering which behavior is correct in a real aircraft? If would seem to me that in a near zero visibility approach the aerostar behavior would be more desirable. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Take Surveys.
