Hi everyone, Thanks for all of your great input on the matter as well as your feedback on the usability of Netlify CMS! Taking all of that and more into consideration, we have decided to go with WordPress for both sites.

Our most important priority for this particular site is to make it really quick and easy to update, add content, and change the site as fully as possible without having to write code. Netlify is great, but it’s not smooth enough yet for this case, and others have made great points about its longevity. A standard static site generator will likely introduce too much indirection, code, and setup into the authoring experience. Ned and Jon, who will be the primary developers of the site, have a lot of WordPress experience. Our experience using Ned’s architecture for the Platform Co-op site has been very positive as well. So I think it makes sense to go ahead and it here as well. Personally, I’m partial to Netlify CMS due to its seemingly lightweight setup, performance and the potential for integrating Infusion if we would like any features from there. It runs on the JAMstack, which means that server responses will be much quicker (among other benefits). On the other hand, Netlify is pretty fresh and finding support, plugins or articles on SO won’t be as easy while WordPress has been around for over 15 years and has a fairly healthy support community.
